Wedding Ceremony

Here is another wedding gallery! I've already posted the Venue & Details gallery and the Ceremony Prep gallery. This one is the Ceremony gallery and I made sure that I started the day out right, with a calm and joyful spirit and a breakfast of wedding champions!

 Hope you enjoy it!

Wedding Ceremony Prep

This is album 2 of 7 and it consists of ceremony prep photos. After the rehearsal dinner the night before, instead of opting to stay with my parents or siblings, Chris dropped me off at the Hilton where I stayed by myself in order to relax with zero distractions. He stayed at our house along with his family which was perfect for him; but me, I wanted to be alone to reflect and take it all in. The next day started out perfectly for me, it was quiet, I had a great breakfast and I was able to be alone with my thoughts and prayers to ready myself for the amazing day. Chris on the other hand had a much more eventful day as he was handling some final touches; but he handled it all in stride.

We arrived at the venue within about an hour of each other and were in our separate quarters getting ready. Chris prepared in a roomed named Heritage: A Beautiful Victorian Romance Room and I was in Tranquility: A Room Of Peace and Serenity. They were gorgeous! It was a lot of fun seeing my mom and sisters show up looking beautiful. I of course didn't see my dad or the boys at the time because they were either with Chris or outside. While we were getting ready, guests were arriving to the lovely sounds of Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble, Renee Olstead, Bobby Darin among many others. I absolutely love swing and big band and it truly set the tone for the day. It was the perfect breezy summer music for a perfect non-breezy 80 degree day. Every time I listen to the music it takes me back to the day and I relive it all over again.

Since we were having an outdoor wedding the last thing that we wanted was for guests to be driving up late as we were beginning the ceremony. Though we put a start time of 5:30 on the invite, it wasn't our "official" start time. We wanted our guest to get there, relax on the beautiful property, listen to great music, mingle and have a cold drink before we got started. The idea was for them to enjoy their day as well and for the day to not be so stiff. I wanted it to feel like an elegant garden get together! The type of event that I would love to be invited to, and from what we heard, it was just that!! If you missed the first set of photos (Venue and Details) click here. Enjoy!!

Whackest Comeback Ever!

Okay seriously I deserve to be hit in the head with a rotten tomato (though I don't condone violence) for getting all gung-ho with my so called comeback only to disappear all over again. I have to admit I am a bit embarrassed and pretty pathetic...and can't promise that I won't disappear again but hey lets stay optimistic why don't we! I do appreciate all of the kind words and well wishes that I received from everyone, you guys are awesome.

I did really think I was back though. The problem however is that things were still lingering. I don't like when things linger, lingering things annoy me kind of like clutter. I despise clutter so it was like some sort of linger clutter. By things I mean my wedding thank yous. We decided to take individual pictures with all of our wedding guests so that we could surprise them with the photo along with their thank you notes. Honestly why couldn't I just send the stinking note all by itself? I tend to over due things sometimes. Some of the photos were collages and some were just us and them. Either way it took some time because I had to go out and buy the frames, Chris had to photo shop the collages, we had to get more stationary for the letters, I can be lazy, Chris tends to procrastinate etc. I literally could not bring myself to move forward on anything until I got those thank yous off of the sofa and mailed out! They were really beginning to annoy me.

Our Thank You Cards! We sent personalized thank yous with personalized photo collages. We took pics with all of our guests.

Anyway, as I'm easing back into this blogging thing my next so many posts will be a bunch of pictures! These first 66 are from album #1 Venue and Details. I have to give a shout out to my husband Chris (he he he...that's fun to say) for creating the gallery to show the photos. There will be plenty more to come, about 6 more albums! I categorized everything to make it easier to look through Our photographer Rose DeVore did not miss a thing! She literally took about a thousand pics, but I won't post each and every one. As you'll be able to tell we posted some of our own pics as well (like the low quality invites). We DIY'd our invites, programs and reserved signs. We created our own unity candle table, and my sister stenciled the chalkboard for us. The pic of the invite is not of the actual invite, it's a pic of the document prior to being printed on the stationary which is why it looks white and electric. Our programs took the most time because we designed them and hand cut each and every one of them. We decided on the fan because it was an outdoor wedding and just in case it was hot (which it wasn't, it was a perfect 80 degrees) we wanted to be prepared. Took a lot of work but was definitely a labor of love. Hope you enjoy!

Don't Call It A Comeback!

In the words of one of the greatest musicians of our times (not so much) L.L. Cool J...  Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years! And here's a video for all of you who don't know the song:

Which after just listening to it myself seems rather weird and pointless because only the first line is relevant! And even that not so much, I haven't been blogging for years only one year this past June 2011...and when I think about that, it's still not quite right given that I went on blog sabbatical at the end of April so it hasn't even been a full year. Soooo, the more I write the more I realize that my clever, L.L Cool J 'don't call it a comeback' line was not so clever after all, and I by no means am gonna knock anyone out nor did my mama say to do so, so I'm gonna kindly apologize for such a weird, pointless and now a bit awkward beginning to my blogging comeback and politely move on to a more important topic.

I am betrothed! That's right folks I am officially a Duck. A Duckworth to be more accurate. My new last name which though in the beginning may sound and look a bit weird next to my first name (Tatum Duckworth); looks perfect in person:
Mr. and Mrs. Duckworth
That's right, on June 25th 2011 I married the most handsome man in the world! And that is no lie. I know many of you women out there are probably thinking 'whatever, I know my man is the most handsome man in the world' but I'm sorry to tell you that you are wrong. I am certain that I married the most handsome man in the world, look for yourself, it says it right there on his suit!:

Sorry ladies! So now that we got that out of the way...It was the best day ever. It rained everyday that week but on Saturday it was sunny and 80 degrees which allowed all of us to exhale because it was an outdoor wedding. Guests arrived to the big band and swing sounds of Michael Buble, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett just to name a few. That along with cold drinks and mingling as Chris and I were getting ready, and the scene was set just as we planned it.

Oh, did I tell  you that we picked our date the February prior! That's right, we gave ourselves 4 months to plan. Who says you need a year! We were so fortunate that everything worked out exactly as we wanted once we decided what that even was, and stress free! Lucky for us we didn't have to go through the wedding drive-thru!
Read more about that here

Even though the wedding planning, ceremony and literal honeymoon are over, we are still floating in the euphoria of such a great time. As everything settles we are gradually getting back to work and back on track. I will try to get everyone up to speed with what we've been doing an add some photos!

I'm certainly glad to be back in blogland! I missed you guys.
