I have no idea what the point of that entire paragraph was because it really has nothing to do with my post. Anyway, the other day I was bored and when I get bored I begin to look around the house for what I can do that is creative. This type of boredom at times makes Chris a little nervous because he can leave the house with a room one way and come home to something totally different.
This particular day I grabbed three inexpensive frames that were laying around the house annoying me because they had no home:
Because I refuse to pay for over priced matting until I win the lottery, and maybe not even then, I used my old tried and true method that I used here. I disassembled the frames and used the white sheets that came with them:
I flipped the sheet over and attached a white sheet of paper to give myself an outline:
Then I flipped it back over and taped it off:
I then went down to the basement to find leftover paint from other projects. I decided to go with the blueish gray paint that we used in our bedroom:
and an extremely bright green that we initially purchased for the kitchen and was a major fail...that's why it's still full.
Next I simply painted the taped off section:
And that is it. The paper on one wrinkled a little bit but that was no big deal to me. And it was done!
Nothing more nothing less and I was satisfied. For a minute I thought that I would add an image or paint a word but nope, I was good.
In addition to a few other decorative elements, the simple artwork gives the light gray room an extra splash of color. It's hard to tell here, but it looks good in person lol. Simple art, zero cost!

Very Very clever. And I totally agree about the matte prices...I just made my own matte using some paper last week for my gallery wall.
My family wishes there were some blank walls. I see a blank space and fill it. I would like blank walls to create something else to put on it.
Such a smart idea! I love it! I have a bunch of sample size paints that would be perfect for this!
Tatum! I love the simplicity of these! And I agree with Brandi, this is perfect for sample size paints. Thanks for sharing, you have gained a new follower! I look forward to getting to know you more.

I love your creativity and how simple these are! I'm currently trying to find a cheapo matting solution and it's NOT easy!
