They want little ol' Midwestern newbie blogger ME! That's right folks, The Nate Berkus Show apparently thinks I'm hot stuff! Well, they didn't quite say that, but they did say that they found my blog and my oh so snazzy (my words of course) coat closet featured on Casa Sugar and thought that I would be a great guest (their words!) to have on the show! I know, I can't believe it either. Am I interested? Hecky yeah!!
I received the heart-stopping email on February 10th right before I was about to walk into my neighborhood True Value to look for decorative drawer pulls for a project. The email really stopped me in my tracks and I was for lack of better words FREAKING OUT! I didn't know whether to continue walking into the store or speed home to get my bearings. First things first, I called Chris and my sister Von and then we all freaked out together. After that call I decided to keep my cool and just walk into the store. I soon realized that all cool had long since gone out the window and I was just fooling myself, so I sprinted through the store knocking down customers in my way (just kidding), barely searched for what I needed and sprinted out so that I could get home and contact the show back.
I've seen other bloggers get the opportunity to be on the show or be featured and I've always wondered how they got so lucky. Never did I think that it would happen to me. What makes it even more exciting is that they found me. I didn't write to them, or contact them in anyway, boy do I feel blessed and honored.
I have been on cloud nine since that day, I won't go into all the details, but after several phone calls with producers and staff there, it was a go!

Wow Tatum! That is such good news! I remember your closet post, cause I have a closet looking very dull but I haven't tackled it yet.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! Oh and to not confuse matters, they don't want me for my coat closet project they just saw the closet and my site (my renovations) and thought I'd be a good guest in general. Sorry for any confusion :-)

Thanks for your comment on Crafty Geordi. Funny thing about the snow is that I am from Illinois and have experienced plenty of snow. I moved to California when I was 7 so all of my snow memories are good ones. <3 We'll get to the mountains for snow play from time to time and by the end of the day I am done with the white stuff, lol. It would be sooo novel to see it at my house tho.....
