Wedding Dress Shopping

Well as you may have read somewhere in here or definitely on Ducktales Chris and I are engaged to be married. But as you well know from the oh so many Reno-virgin  posts, our attention has been focused on our home. Well now, a year and 11 days from our engagement, we're realizing that we really need to get on the ball and re-focus our attentions...or maybe split our focus between the two.

In an effort to get motivated with this planning thing, my four favorite ladies and I

Mom Virginia, Sister Vonetta, Sister Calista and Niece Kerirstin
[Note: this is an attempt to sneak a photo since pictures were not allowed...ignore the flash... he he he]

decided that it was time to go wedding dress browsing.  This was an attempt to kick start me into wedding planning. I was told that once I started looking for dresses I'd really get into planning mode. So Von took the lead and setup 3 appointments at the following locations:

In that order! Here is another stolen photo taken at Wendy's Bridal:

And me and mom:

I'd love to show you more photos from our wedding dress shopping experience but they are mainly of me in dresses and since Chris is one of my loyal followers I cannot take that risk! However, as I was told, this day definitely made me kick it up a notch. Trying on dresses was FABULOUS!!! I think every girl should wear her wedding dress at least once a week. They just made me feel so special and girly!!

The very first dress that I tried on, I loved immediately. Every dress thereafter didn't compare. Though there was one dress at The Wedding Plantation that was in fact a contender. I think I will know for sure which dress I will chose once I go back for a second look. I'm pretty certain that I will chose the very first dress that I tried on, I think about it often. I was told at the store that 80% of brides pick the first dress that they try on so it is imperative that I let the excitement stew for a while to make sure that I'm certain. I wonder if that percentage exists because of over excited brides.

In addition to looking for dresses the five of us along with Chris visited this potential venue that houses these beauties:

And how about this for a pretty outdoor wedding:

Or maybe this!

There's a lot to think about when it comes to figuring out a wedding. Chris and I have recently implemented "Wedding Wednesdays". Every Wednesday we try to make certain that we do a little something to get us closer to that big day.
So stay tuned! Maybe we'll actually have a date soon...but don't hold your breath we've been known to procrastinate :-)

Laney, lol! If only I could ban him. He's a bit intrigued with this whole blogging world. He gets pretty excited whenever I update.
