Chris laid down newspaper:
I sprayed three rounds of the chalkboard paint allowing for 40 minutes between each coat and once it was dry I removed the tape:
And tada!
After this photo op, we removed the ugly frame:
Cut the new molding into the necessary sizes:
Seasoned the board by rubbing chalk all over it:
Affixed the new frame, and FINITO!!!
I purchased white high gloss spray paint and a corresponding clear coat thinking that I wanted the frame to be solid white. However, since our kitchen has yet to be completed and that will be where the board hangs I decided to leave it as is for the moment. Who knows, I might ultimately decide to stain it instead! Oh, and I still have to show you it's magnetic power! That will come next.

Great job! How many coats of the magnetic primer did you have to do to make it really magnetic? Fab job!
