My First Chalkboard!!!
I know what you're thinking. This isn't a chalkboard, it's a cork-board, and you're right. What's even better about this cork-board is that it was free! It was about to be thrown out at my place of employment and as you know, one persons trash can be another woman's treasure. As soon as I saw this cork-board my mind went into "what can I turn this into mode". Yea, I could have brought it home and just mounted it on one of our walls as is; but that wouldn't be very pretty.
I thought, I could take it apart add some pretty fabric and have a lovely fabric cork-board that could hold photos etc. with ribbon. That would be quite appealing on the eye! Then I thought, maybe half fabric board and half chalkboard. However the more that I thought of that the more I didn't like the idea, especially because I plan on keeping it in the kitchen and I don't think a fabric board would look right in there. So, I finally decided...chalkboard it is!
For all of you who really know me you know that I despise clutter and think that everything should have it's own special place in the home. This has been especially taxing for me since we still have so many unfinished areas in our house right now. One thing in particular that I have never been a fan of is refrigerator clutter...or art as many parents will call it lol. I could also use a place to hold coupons, write grocery lists, menus and little love notes :-)
That is why I am going to turn this not-so lovely cork-board into a lovely multi-functional chalkboard! A magnetic chalkboard at that. At least that is my plan. Enter supplies:
Here we go! Wish me luck.

That's a great idea! I hate clutter on the fridge too. No mismatched magnets for this girl!
