I'm Bringing Sexy Back

In the famous words of Justin Timberlake... sexy is my mission. OK, so I have been seriously slacking at going to the gym for the longest time! Each day that I procrastinate is a day closer to Spring!! A day closer to flirty summer dresses, exposed arms and legs; and for the extremely brave, bikinis without wraps!!! I have got to get it together. There was a time in my life when I was so on top of my exercise game and I really need to get there again. I keep giving myself a pep talk but it is so hard to go out into the cold just to go to the gym, lift weights and make myself miserable! I have mastered avoiding the mirror so that I don't have to focus on my fading muscle tone but that's not a solution!

Just yesterday I went to a boot camp class at my gym (Urban Active) and it literally kicked my behind. This was only my second time taking this class and it is the hardest class ever. So today, I am sore everywhere and quite immobile. How am I supposed to work on my home projects when I can barely move? For exercise to be such a good thing it is really impeding my progress today. However, I am determined to crack open all of my Oxygen magazines (which is the best fitness magazine ever) and get back on track...well I hope I do.

How many of you out there have great workout routines? Are you all ready for Spring and Summer? Do you battle getting off of your couch to face the harsh cold temperatures to head to the gym? Are you fortunate enough to have a workout area in your home? Or, is your treadmill doubling as a plant stand?

I totally know where you're at! I'm trying hard to find some motivation to stay in shape. Thanks for helping me remember that it is worth the hard work!

I didn't become a serious exerciser until about 48 year old. Before that time, I only exercised after each of my kids was born, or when I saw a few pounds coming on.

Now, I get it by playing tennis, horseback riding, and mainly, running. It is definitely hard to dress, i.e. the layers, and remembering the i-Pod, the sunglasses, the nose tissue, the house key, and so on. But as soon as I'm into my activity, I'm okay. And it makes me feel good for the day.

You can do it! If the Urban Active is too much, try something else. :)
